Islam is one of the fastest growing religions in the world. The basic belief of Islam is the worship of one God. You will often hear God referred to as Allah since Islam started in an Arabic speaking country and the Arabic word for God is Allah. Muslims (those that submit entirely to the will of God) believe that God sent Muhammed as a final messenger to the world. A common misconception is that Muslims do not believe in Jesus, quite the contrary, Muslims believe Jesus was born to the virgin Mary by command of God but not as the son of God. God sent His word to Muhammed to be recorded. This document is the Qur'an. Muslims use the Qur'an as Christians use the Bible-for guidance and inspiration.
There are 5 pillars of Islam:
1-Belief and worship of God alone
2-Prayer (5 times a day)
3-Charity
4-Fasting
5-Pilgrimage to Mecca
